Job description
We are looking to hire a Structural Steel Estimator to join our company in Houston Texas.
– Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects that are related to Steel erection and Miscellaneous Steel.
– Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
– Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
– Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop accurate estimates
– Use construction estimating software to create comprehensive estimates
– Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients
– Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids
– Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and make adjustments as necessary to stay within budget

– Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating or related field
– Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
– Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and contracts
– Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations
– Familiarity with construction estimating software
– Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
– Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
